Oralift Frequently Asked Questions
Before You Buy 🛍️
What is Oralift?
A simple explanation of how Oralift stimulates natural facial renewal.
Is Oralift safe?
Yes. Oralift is regarded as a General Wellness product by the FDA. It is not worn long enough, or with enough force, to move teeth or change the bite.
The changes you see are due to adaptive muscle behaviour, not dental alteration.
Manufactured in the UK. Made with Du Pont Elvax 150W thermoplastic & Grilamid TR90 nylon. BPA-free and SATRA-tested for safety.
Dr Mohindra explains that Oralift is gentle, natural and safe. In this video, he also discusses the concepts of chronological and biological ageing.
Is Oralift suitable for me?
Most adults can use Oralift safely. Oralift fits best when you have at least one molar on each side, top and bottom. Implants or removable dentures are fine.
If you don’t have upper molars to bite against during fitting, we recommend guidance from our team via the Guided Journey.
If you are in the middle of any orthodontic treatment or extensive dental work, consult your dentist before starting Oralift.

Will Oralift change my bite?
No.
Oralift is worn gently and briefly.
It does not exert the forces required to move teeth or affect jaw position.
Renewal comes from improved muscle balance, not bite changes.
Can I use Oralift if I clench or grind my teeth?
Yes – many people who clench or grind use Oralift comfortably.
The Touch Test helps increase awareness of unnecessary tooth contact, which supports more relaxed facial muscles over time.
How Oralift helps reduce unnecessary tooth contact.
Do I need a practitioner to use Oralift?
No.
Oralift is designed as a self-guided programme.
A small number of trained practitioners offer optional support, but it is not required for safe or successful use.
How quickly will I see results?
Our facial muscles begin adapting from the moment you start using Oralift – the process starts immediately.
Some people notice early changes in relaxation or expression within minutes or hours. Others see differences more clearly in their photos over the first few weeks.
Everyone adapts at their own pace, and some changes can be subtle at first.
That’s why your progress photos are so important – a trained eye can often see improvements long before you might notice them yourself.

Can Oralift Help Reduce Facial Tension and Support Natural Relaxation?
Many people carry far more tension in their facial and jaw muscles than they realise. This habitual tightness can influence how the face looks and feels -affecting expression, posture, and overall comfort.
Oralift works by gently increasing the space between the upper and lower teeth, which interrupts the familiar clenching pattern many people fall into unconsciously. When this habitual load is reduced, the nervous system often responds by allowing the muscles to relax naturally.
Users frequently describe a feeling of ease:
- less tightness in the face
- softer expression
- a sense of release in the jaw and neck
These responses reflect the body shifting out of its usual bracing patterns and into a more relaxed state. Oralift does not treat any medical condition, but it is designed to support general wellness, helping people become more aware of their tension patterns and encouraging a more relaxed facial posture.
Is there a guarantee or return policy?
Yes – please see our Purchasing Terms for Oralift and App page in the footer.
Getting Started 🚀
How do I take my progress photos?
All photos must be taken on your smartphone and recorded in real time through the Oralift App. This ensures accuracy and makes subtle changes easy to track. The App guides you step by step.
Shows how the App guides your photo sessions.
How do I fit the Oralift appliances?
Fit each device by placing it in hot water for 3½ minutes, positioning it behind your lower front teeth, and gently closing your mouth to mold it.
Full instructions and guidance are in the App and in your How to Use Oralift section.
Step-by-step molding and fitting demonstration.
What is the Touch Test?
The Touch Test is a short check performed only on wear days. It helps you notice whether your upper teeth touch the Oralift blocks. This simple awareness creates a helpful “brain trigger” that tooth contact isn’t necessary – supporting natural muscle relaxation.
A walkthrough of how and why the Touch Test works.
Why is the Touch Test so important?
The Touch Test is important because repetition builds awareness in the brain.
Each time you notice your teeth don’t need to touch, you reinforce a more relaxed resting pattern for your facial muscles – even between sessions.
Many people find this increased awareness helps them notice and release tension more easily, including at night.
This explains the importance of awareness and the brain trigger.
How often do I do the Touch Test?
Only on wear days.
When do I switch from the 3mm to the 5mm appliance?
You fit both during onboarding, but most people start with the 3mm device after your two-day rest time.
The progression to the 5mm device depends on your muscle response and comfort.
Your Program 📖
How long should I wear Oralift?
You begin with short sessions and increase gradually depending on your muscle response. Most of the benefit happens during rest time, not during the wear session itself.
What is “rest time” and why do they matter?
Rest time allows your muscles to adapt naturally.
This is when most users notice improvements in expression, vitality, and facial balance.
Consistency + rest = long-term renewal.
What are signs of overuse?
During onboarding, overuse signs are muscle-related:
- pain
- trembling
- headache
During regular use, you may also notice skin signs:
- dullness
- puffiness
- a “tired” look
If this happens, rest longer and halve your next wear time.
This explains early overuse signs and what to do.
What if I can only tolerate Oralift for a very short time?
This is completely normal – especially if your facial muscles are tense.
Even 30 seconds is enough at the start.
As your muscles relax, you will tolerate longer sessions naturally.
How do I know Oralift is working for me?
Your progress photos reveal changes in:
- facial symmetry
- skin quality
- overall expression
- posture
- the “aging triangle” (often reversing)
These changes are gradual and natural.
See real progress examples + how the App reveals subtle changes.
Can I combine Oralift with other treatments?
Yes – you can combine Oralift with other treatments, but it depends on the condition of your facial muscles.
If your facial muscles are tense or you notice signs of overuse during onboarding, it’s best to keep things simple and focus only on Oralift and relaxation until your muscles settle. Even short Oralift sessions can stimulate adaptation, so giving your muscles space to adjust is important.
If your muscles feel healthy and relaxed, you can usually continue the treatments you were already using. Many people find that Oralift complements facials, skincare, and other non-invasive options.
To be safe, we recommend using Oralift on its own for the first two weeks, then reintroducing other treatments if you wish. This helps you (and us) understand how your face is adapting.
If you’ve had fillers or facial procedures, you can normally use Oralift
Is Oralift a long-term program?
Yes. Oralift works through cyclical use and is a lifetime program. You wear it for a period, rest, and repeat. This keeps your muscles adapting without overuse.
